We've been in such a spoiled position, in that all our storytelling, the bulk of our major storytelling, has taken place in the past, where a lot of this has already been, you know, supported. Like, we went back in time for Episodes I, II and III, and The Clone Wars. So there were, you know, we were already filling gaps. And now we're in a position where we've left a big deliberate gap, and we're not used to not knowing things. But that's what it was like back in the Original Trilogy days, you know? It's like we didn't know everything going into the picture, and I think there's this culture shock among the Star Wars fans who are used to having everything spelled out for them. There's a good reason why we can't give you this information - because it's being held, because we may go there in the future and we can't fill that in at this point. You know, I feel like the old-timer, saying, "Well, we didn't know who the Emperor was when Episode IV went out!.." And, you know, it's like he just gets mentioned in a briefing room sequence, and if you were lucky enough to have a novellization, you'd know a little bit about him. But, you know, you'd have to wait all the way till the Return of the Jedi to get a real good look at him, alright? So there's a lot of that. There are a lot of questions. And it's not just to be annoying that I can't tell you this. Because, you know, things like Snoke and, then, Rey's parentage and all these things that we can't talk about - we can't talk about them for a reason. Cause answers about those subjects should come out in the course of the story. И еще одна любопытная мысль на будущее - всем тем, кто считает, что про Приквелы забыли: Цитата In terms of what's coming forward... I mean, obviously, I can't talk about it, but I think once Rogue One enters the picture, it's gonna diversify the way we talk about Star Wars. I honestly feel like a lot of debates and arguments about eras and, you know, viewing order and all that stuff - it's so pedantic now, and so irrelevant now in this future, right? You know what, the distinction between the the Prequel and the Classic era is going to become increasingly meaningless. It's all Star Wars.
And what Rogue One represents is that we can pick any point in the timeline and start telling a story. I think a lot of people are hyper-focused on what happens next, after the events of VII - and that's totally understandable, but, you know, we as storytellers think of the entirety of Star Wars as a canvas and look for storytelling opportunities, and it doesn't matter when it takes place. If there's a story we wanna tell, and it's the right time to tell it, then we'll tell it. So, I'm thinking that-- I'm hoping people will be happily and pleasantly surprised by that notion. That, you know, we expect you to keep multiple eras in mind, and hope to surprise you by where we're going next. -------------------- "Невинный блаженец" © D.G.
Ilaan vanished – and took all the sounds and sources of light along. Only Ilaan remained. Down on his knees, an obedient servant of the Force, just like all those months ago. It spoke to him – and he listened, without saying a word. Out of his silence, the sounds and images appeared, filling the space around them, giving the reality its meaning and weight, just like clean white cloth that gradually becomes heavy with blood when it covers the body. |
